Division I
The highest competitive level with the most scholarship dollars, but also the smallest number of roster spots relative to demand. Academic standards and the NCAA Eligibility Center registration apply.
Division II
Offers athletic scholarships, often blended with academic aid, with a competitive level just below D-I. Many families find D-II offers a strong balance of competition and total aid package.
Division III
No athletic scholarships are permitted, but strong academic institutions often provide significant need- and merit-based aid. Recruiting timelines can move later than D-I and D-II.
