Scouting Methodology

How We Evaluate Softball Players

Honest evaluation is the foundation of everything we do. Here is exactly how it works.

Position-Specific Standards

A pitcher, catcher, and outfielder are evaluated against different benchmarks. We do not use one generic athleticism score for every position.

Video-First Evaluation

Wherever possible, evaluation is grounded in current game and skills video rather than reputation, team name, or secondhand reports.

Division Context

A skill is rated relative to realistic divisional benchmarks (D-I, D-II, D-III, NAIA, NJCAA), not a single national scale that overstates fit.

No Inflated Ratings

We do not assign artificially high ratings to make a profile look more attractive. Evaluations are meant to inform a realistic strategy, not flatter the athlete.

What This Means for Your Family

An honest evaluation can feel less exciting than an inflated one, but it is what makes a recruiting strategy actually work. Our goal is to help you target the programs where your athlete has a real chance to compete and contribute - not just accumulate contacts.
